There is no shortage of ways to decorate your home for Christmas and thanks to Pinterest there is no shortage of inspiration for new ways either! With a quick search, you can find everything from modern Christmas decor to classic Christmas decor ideas. One of my favorite ways to decorate for Christmas is the inexpensive way! I love finding a good deal or making a quick trip to the Dollar Tree to spruce up my Christmas home decor.
Of course, the even better way is to create something at home for free! I created these Christmas Decor Printables that are a perfect way to add some holiday cheer to your home this Christmas season! They fit into an 8×10 picture frame and can change the look of your room in just a few minutes!
When I made these I had you in mind. Not everyone knows how to create images like these so I made 6 different images to give you plenty of options on which ones fit in with your home decor. Plus, we all have different styles so this way there is something for everyone! You can grab all six of these Christmas decor printables for only $1!
How to Make Christmas Decor Printables
As I said not everyone knows how to create images like these so if you are looking to add some inexpensive Christmas decorations to your house but you want to make your own then I will show you how I made these!
First, you will need to use some sort of image editors like PicMonkey or Canva. I use and love PicMonkey so I will be using them in this tutorial but Canva has a free version that you can use as well. If you choose to use PicMonkey then they do offer a free trial and then it is only $7.99 a month after that.
At the end of this post, I will also show you how to sell the images you create so keep that in mind if you are on the fence of purchasing PicMonkey. If selling your digital creations sounds like something you would like to do then you may be willing to spend that $8 a month to have a better program to use.
Designing Your Printables
After you have signed up for your free trial your screen will look something similar to this. This is a screenshot of how mine looks so yours will be different since you won’t have any saved projects.
For this project since you are creating a printable you will need to choose a size that you know will fit into the size frame you are making the project for. I used the size of a piece of copy paper to create my printables. A piece of copy paper is 8.5×11 and normal frame size is 8×10. With that said you will just need to make sure you give a little space for that extra .5×1. Otherwise your beautiful printable will be cut off by the frame.
Once you select your canvas size your screen will then look like this one above. From here you can then start creating your beautiful printable! Let your artistic side come through and get creative. Use the menu on the left side to customize your printable!
There are so many options that PicMonkey offers and they continue to add more and more every time I log in! I use them for almost all of the images that I create for my blog. I use a few others but PicMonkey is by far my favorite!
Free Stock Images for Your Printable
In my printables that I have created, I use free stock images. You can find free stock images in several different places online you just need to varify you are allowed to use those images. PicMonkey has partnered with Unsplash which is one of the sites that I use for free stock images and now you can find those free stock images on the left side menu within PicMonkey.
Check out this post to find more sites with stock images. Again, you just need to read the licensing use of the pictures first. For your own home it is probably fine unless you decide to sell one of your designs. Then you wouldn’t be legally allowed to do that without first checking the licensing agreement on the photo.
After you choose the image that you want to use for your printable, add it to your canvas and adjust it to your liking. In the example above I added the first image on the left side menu, rotated it and expanded it. Next you can add text to your image. PicMoney has so many amazing fonts to choose from so test some of them out and see which one works for your creation. Change the color, add a shadow effect, tilt it, do whatever your heart desires!
That’s all it takes to create a festive image that will be perfect to add to a frame and bring some inexpensive Christmas decor to your home! Once you have your image just how you like it, click on the download option at the top of the screen. Download your image, print it, and add it to your frame!
How to Sell a Bundle of Christmas Printables
To be able to sell a bundle of Christmas printables there are a few more steps to take. After you have created several different printables, you need to combine them all into a PDF to sell as a bundle. I just simply added the new images I created to a Word document and saved it as a PDF.
Since these printables are designed to be printed on copy paper I wanted to make sure that they would print properly. Once added to the Word Doc, I left room for that extra .5×1 that copy paper has on the 8×10 frame and saved it as a PDF.
Where to sell your printables
Now that you have your PDF of printables ready to sell you need somewhere to sell them. A quick and easy site to use is SendOwl. They offer a free trial and then after that their lowest plan is $9 a month. It takes less than a minute to set up your account and upload your first product.
You can set up your SendOwl account with no credit card required so it is just a free 30-day test run. Once you have your PDF added as your first digital product, you now need to advertise your product.
No worries you can do that for free on Pinterest!

How to Make Extra Money for Christmas with Pinterest
Christmas is just around the corner and you are probably thinking how can I make extra money for Christmas this year? Well, what if I told you there is a way you can do that with Pinterest?
Yes, you read that correctly. There is a way to turn something you probably do all the time, pin on Pinterest, into a money-making machine.
Now there are actually multiple ways you can use Pinterest to make money. The two that I am going to share with you today are the ones that can start earning you extra money sooner than the other ways.
Affiliate Marketing on Pinterest to Make Extra Money for Christmas
You may have heard all about affiliate marketing already but let me share, for those that haven’t, what affiliate marketing is. It is pretty much getting paid to advertise for other companies.
Amazon was the first big one to roll it out. Instead of paying to advertise online they offered to give a commission back to those that advertised for them on their own sites. For example, if someone went to a blog or website and clicked on the advertisement for an Amazon product and then purchased something from Amazon after clicking that link, Amazon would pay that blog or website owner a commission for the sale.
It has since grown into a huge deal where almost all companies have some sort of affiliate or “influencer” program. And it isn’t only for purchases either, some pay for leads and other things now too.
Pinterest allows you to pin affiliate links so that is one way you could start making some extra cash before Christmas. Become an affiliate for a product you love and share it on Pinterest!
Now you can also share an affiliate link (where allowed) on your other social media accounts but they won’t get you nearly as far as Pinterest will. Unless you have millions of followers on your social media accounts.
There is more to it than just slapping some affiliate links on to Pinterest but overall that is just one option of making money for Christmas with Pinterest.
Sell Your Own Product on Pinterest to Make Extra Money for Christmas
Just like how you can create pins to sell other company’s products, you can create pins to sell your own products. This doesn’t mean you have to sell a physical product either.
If you already have a physical product that you sell and you are just looking to up your sales before Christmas than Pinterest would be perfect for that.
However, if you don’t have a physical product a very quick and much easier method is to sell a digital product. A digital product can be anything from a printable, an eBook, coloring pages, cookbook, or even a course.
If there is something you are knowledgeable about and you can create a digital product to share it with others than you can create a pin on Pinterest and sell your digital product.
Don’t worry about it not being perfect or professionally made. You can create your product in a Word Doc and save it as a PDF and ta-da! You now have a digital product to sell on Pinterest.
Keep in mind that your product should be more than just words on a paper. You will want to give it a cover page, an index, chapters, resources, and so on.
Make sure that you are solving a problem for your readers and make it worth buying. I just want to be clear I am not suggesting to just throw something together.
Think about if it is something you would spend money on? Yes? Then you are fine! If not, then you need to fix it up a little before trying to sell it.
Speaking of Christmas I have an awesome Christmas deal for you!
Grab all these printables that fit in 8×10 frames for only $1! This is a very easy, simple, and inexpensive way to add more Christmas decor to your house this year!
Questions on How to Make Extra Cash for Christmas with Pinterest
You probably have a bunch of questions right now like:
Do I need a special Pinterest account to do all this?
How do I find affiliate programs?
How do I sign up for affiliate programs?
What are the rules that go along with all this?
How do I get paid for selling my own products on Pinterest?
How long does it take to get paid?
Do I need a website or blog to do this?
And many more I am sure. It really isn’t as complicated as you think so stick with me and I will answer those questions for you.
Do I need a special Pinterest account to do all this?
Yes, you have to have a Business Pinterest Account.
How do I find affiliate programs?
You can go to affiliate networks that host a bunch of the big name company’s affiliate programs or a simple Google search works too. If all else fails it is usually listed on the company’s bottom menu on their website.
How do I sign up for affiliate programs?
Each program is different and if they host their own affiliate program you just follow the steps they provide. Or if you go through an affiliate network then you follow the steps provided on there.
What are the rules that go along with all this?
There are a few different rules to make sure you are compliant with the FTC and disclose that you are an affiliate of that company, not the actually company. Also this openly let’s people know you are receiving a commission for sales made. Make sure you read through the terms of each affiliate program to see if they allow you to pin on Pinterest. Then make sure you add in your Pinterest pin description #affiliatelink to disclose it is an affiliate link.
How do I get paid for selling my own products on Pinterest?
Depending on if you have physical or digital products is how you will get paid. You need to use some sort of platform to make the transactions through. Example: Etsy. You can use Etsy for either your physical or digital homemade product. If you are looking to just do digital and you don’t want to go through the hassle of setting up an Etsy store, you can also try SendOwl. They offer a free trial and a very low plan after that.
How long does it take to get paid?
Each affiliate program has its own payout schedule so that just depends. I would say the average is 30 days. However, if you sell your own products you could get paid the same day the sale is made.
Do I need a website or blog to do this?
Technically the answer to this is no. You don’t have to have a website or blog. Some affiliate programs may want you to but not all of them do. For selling your own products, you don’t have to have a site either besides somewhere that you can make the transaction through for your product. If you are wanting to start a blog and promote your affiliate links on there for more added income than you can learn more here.

16 Christmas Decorations for the Living Room Fireplace
One of my favorite things to decorate during the Christmas season is my fireplace! Growing up my mom always had beautiful Christmas decorations for our living room fireplace. She would decorate the whole house but there was something special about the fireplace mantel that I just fell in love with. Looking back I am very impressed at my moms decorating skills for living in a small town in Kansas before Amazon and Pinterest!
There was no place to shop in our tiny town and without Amazon to delivery everything to your door practically overnight and without Pinterest to inspire you with a million ideas, I don’t know how she did it! Whenever people would come over to visit they would always compliment her decorating abilities.
I often have people tell me the same and I like to think that I got some of it from my mom but I also have access to not only Amazon and Pinterest, but I now live in Savannah, GA so I have plenty of home decor stores to visit for inspiration!
Even with access to all those fun stores, I am still a sucker for Amazon. It’s just too convenient to pick up your phone and in just a few clicks everything you need is heading your way and some of it now even comes the very next day! Of course, that is if you have a Prime Membership with Amazon. Which I’m sure most everyone does but if you are one of the few that don’t then let me tell you that it is completely worth it! Years ago I was a big skeptic but then I finally got a membership and I never looked back!

16 Christmas Decorations for the Living Room Fireplace
So let’s move on to 16 Christmas decoration ideas I found on Amazon for the living room fireplace. I picked out some of the cutest decorations that caught my eye. There are so many that I really could have easily put a hundred in this post but then I don’t know if anyone would actually make it through the entire list!
The first one that caught my eye is these adorable throw pillows! Throw pillows are very trendy right now and they are a great inexpensive way to decorate your house. You can change them out throughout the year for each season and it makes a big difference in the look and feel of your home. These pillows would be super cute in a basket by the fireplace, on a bench by the fireplace, or even leaned again the fireplace or mantel.
I have a set of these remote-controlled faux candles and they put off a beautiful glow that is perfect for setting the Christmas mood. There are different settings so you can either have them come on automatically or just turn them on with a quick push of a button! These are great for any time of the year not just for Christmas decorations.
These reindeer candle holders are super cute! They would be perfect for decorating your living room fireplace! They could even be used throughout your house to bring every room to life with Christmas spirit! I like how they are used in this picture on the dining room table. That is another great idea to use them for.
I love the idea of these plain stockings! They look very clean and elegant. The all-white Christmas look is very modern and I would love to be able to pull it off myself but everything I try and get that is white my dogs, husband, and child quickly turn is a grey/brown color. Keeping everything clean is a battle in itself I don’t know why I put more stress on myself by buying white decor.
These are a pretty cream color and they look so cute it is going to be hard not to purchase these and replace our old cheap looking stockings I have been holding on to!
If you aren’t into the all-white Christmas look but you are still looking to upgrade your old shaggy stockings then these might be just for you. The red plaid look is also very modern and trendy this Christmas. You could get these and those throw pillows I shared at the beginning and tie the whole room together! All you need to do next is get a wreath or tree with a similar look!
This wooden reindeer would be a perfect accent to your mantel decor! Set them up within your garland with those faux candles and add some cute little trees (check those out below) and stocks with a throw pillow on the side and you would have an amazing fireplace this Chrismas! I am also all for easy to store Christmas decorations and these would store very easily.
There are so many different options for garland that are available but I think this one is beautiful. The garland that I have lights up in multiple colors. The more I go through all these amazing Christmas decorations for the living room fireplace the more I am realizing how dated what I have is! We updated our tree last year so this year may be the perfect year to update our fireplace decorations.
A big family with a bunch of stockings deserves to have these stocking holders. We were only able to have one child and she has an adorable stocking holder but since we only have one holder I need to get some more for my husband and I. Not that anyone fills our stockings but it looks so bare with only one stocking! Maybe we should make some for the dogs haha!
I have seen so many of these signs being used throughout all the holiday seasons and they are starting to grow on me. I picture all of the decorations above all placed perfectly on the mantel of my living room fireplace with this sign either on the mantel as shown in the picture or off to the side hanging on a shelf on the wall. There is more than one way I picture using this Merry Christmas sign. It does look good on the fireplace though!
This is a much simpler strand of garland that includes lights and pinecones. We decorated our Christmas tree with pinecones last year and it turned out so good. It gives your decor a rustic look that would go great with the red plaid theme. I try and make sure that all my Christmas decorations have a similar look and feel to them. When we first got married everything we had was hand-me-downs and so none of it matched or went together at all. Now I try to make sure it all flows nicely together!
This stocking holder is similar to the one that we have for our daughter. It is just a little different than all the other basic stocking holders. Again this has a more rustic look to it than the metal holders which I prefer. I like that farmhouse look.
I love the look of these. The splash of red would pull out all the other red tones in the room and the burlap base has a shabby chic feel to it. We also put berries in our tree last year so these accent decorations would go along perfect with our tree as they sat upon the mantel.
Something that I will add is that we got all of our new tree decorations from Dollar Tree last year! It is amazing what you can find there.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a nativity scene! I haven’t seen one where the lights are in the middle like this one and I really like the effect it gives it. This piece would be beautiful upon the mantel! Just image the fire crackling underneath and Christmas music playing in the background. Yes! Sign me up!
I really like the snow-covered look and this wreath it looks like it is straight out of the forest. The berry and twigs make this wreath look more natural and really pop against that green and white. This whole thing has a classic green, white and red Christmas look!
These are a perfect simple accent decoration that I would easily use throughout my whole house but definitely on the fireplace mantel in the living room too! I love the simplicity of these and how they are a great way to add a touch of Christmas here and there if you don’t want to go all out. I picture these being used as part of a centerpiece on my dinner table as well!
This garland again has that snow-covered look that I just couldn’t help but include in this list! Now that I live in the South and I am not around the snow anymore I feel like I can enjoy it more than when I was forced to live in it all day every day during Winter back home. This makes your house feel like Christmas without actually having to deal with the snow!
Well, I hope you loved going through all these ideas for Christmas decorations for the living room fireplace as much as I did! I can’t wait to start decorating for Christmas this year! Let me know if you found some other goodies that would go on your living room fireplace this Christmas!
